I’m pedaling to empower women and girls around the world.

I am thrilled to share that I am helping to change lives through the Power of Bicycles! I'm raising funds and awareness for World Bicycle Relief, a global nonprofit organization committed to helping individuals overcome the barrier of distance in developing communities around the world.

Please consider supporting me as I work to empower women and girls through the Power of Bicycles. Every donation makes a difference, and a contribution of $205 CAD helps put a Buffalo Bicycle into the hands of a person in need!

Thank you for your support.

Importance of a Bicycle

Saturday 3rd Jun
I am lucky to say I have always had a bicycle. My first one was a hand me down, but then one day my Dad bought for me a new purple bicycle, and while it was a little too big for me, I didn’t care, I would manage. I loved that bike. When I was a teenager I scrimped and saved all my paper route money to buy myself my first 10 speed. I loved that bike too and rode it for many many years. Bikes have always meant both fun and independence for me. When I had brain surgery in 2017 I was no longer allowed to play the many sports I enjoyed, specifically soccer(or football). I was devastated. Playing Soccer was my passion for 30+ years. I asked my neurosurgeon if riding a bike was possible and he answered that it is a great form of exercise for me. Re-learning to ride my bike was a very big part in my recovery. Not only being able to balance and improve my stamina, but also gain some independence when I wasn’t cleared to drive. That bike was stolen sadly, but I am fortunate to have had the means to buy another one. For many girls this is not the case. I believe all girls should have the means to change the world, by getting an education, helping their communities and getting a job they are passionate about. For many girls this starts with owing a bike. This is why I am
riding this weekend.
